I started this site to document my writing journey from not knowing a thing about the craft of writing to being published. My debut novel, The Anuan Legacy, is on track to be released in late fall of 2017 (fingers crossed), so I'm almost there. (Not that I'll ever stop working to improve on craft.)
At a
later age than most, I discovered a love for reading and, subsequently,
writing. So, I dove in up to my eyeballs and am frantically trying to make up
for lost time. I’m actively involved in the writing communities in and around
my current home in Moore, Oklahoma. I’m 2nd Vice President (Membership) of The Oklahoma City
Writers and Pitch Room Chair for the Oklahoma Writers’ Federation. I still stay in
touch with the writing community back home in Dayton, Ohio, too, and even Skype
in twice a month to meet with my critique group, The Plot Sisters. You’ll also find me at or around the
Antioch Writers’ Workshop at the University of Dayton the second week of every July.
(Former location of the workshop was in Yellow Springs, Ohio.)
My
day job is a contract specialist with the federal government, but my passion
lies with writing. Growing up, I also loved science (still do), especially
astronomy and earth science. I have a Bachelor
of Science Degree in Science Education, and have earned teaching certifications
in several science fields including physics, astronomy, and earth science. You'll find these sciences laced into my writing. For
my day job, I earned a Master of Science in Business.
I’m
curious about anything beyond this physical world such as aliens,
reincarnation, and psychic abilities, making them among my favorite writing
topics.
When
not working on my writing or government career, I enjoy spending time with my daughter
and son-in-law (Destany and Larry), my two dogs (Sophie and Ellie), and,
especially, my new baby grandson (Ison).
I
hope something about my journey can enlighten, guide, or inspire you. Or, maybe,
you will just find some entertainment in watching me grope my way through this
new adventure. That’s okay, too.
Thank
you for following!
